Schwinn Junior Stingray
Hello, I have a all original bright blue Schwinn Junior Stingray its in very good condition except a Tiny bit of rust. It was my grandmothers and I just found it in my storage room maybe 3 days ago. I would like to know a average price though I may just use it as a show off piece . Pictures to come.
Note: It still has some cobwebs on it cause I couldn't find time to get them off.

1. Pictures no worky.
2. Limited expertise here on juvenile/kids bikes. In general, girls bikes sell for less than boys bikes.
I would check ebay as there is a lot of activity on Stingrays there. Needs to be spotless to get good money on ebay.
The Stingrays that tend to bring the big bucks are the Krate models, boys style frame, five speed shift, springer style front suspension.
Note my knowledge is VERY limited, as my experience is all with adult multispeed bikes.

One of the best sources for market value is eBay completed auctions. One 1976 Junior Sting-Ray sold on Sept 12 for $158.00. There were 27 bids, which shows lots of interest.
Here's the listing:

The seat isn't correct for that bike. Still a nice example of an early Junior. The first two letters of the serial number will tell you the year. There are plenty of serial # charts online.

+...not likely the original saddle. Maybe it was torn, or uncomfortable to ride. Everything else looks original, though I'm not an expert on these bikes either.
I sold a '71 Stingray Stardust back a few months ago. Not in the condition of yours, but it had a couple of nice touches.

My brother's Junior Sting-Ray from the 1968 had a "banana" seat but was shorter than the full sized bike's. His was a coppertone gold bike and the seat was a boring plain white. Reflector was mounted off of a tab from the underside of the seat.
Those tabs broke off easily.

Holy cow, that analog spedometer/odometer is awesome! Although I can't imagine taking one of those things to 40 mph.
