1983 Colnago Master Modern or Vintage Components
I recently purchased a 1983 Colnago Master in near mint condition. The owner replaced the Super Record Components with a Veloce 9speed gruppo over 10 years ago. I having trouble deciding whether to keep the current set up or bring the bike back to its original condition with Super Record. I have most of the super record parts except for brake levers, hubs and brakes. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Here is a photo-and yes the bar tape has to go.

Hello Welcome to the forums.
it looks nice I would just leave it alone. finding a nice set of brakes may be expensive, and if I were to put Super Record back on this I would just run the current wheels anyway.

What a beautiful bicycle.
You aren't asking for an appraisal or dollar value, so I think this should be in the regular C&V section.
Additional pairs of eyes to help and make suggestions. Folks like to see these Colnagos!
That being said, I'd service and clean this hot rod pronto.
Next, I'd opt for a black Regal, black Fizik bar tape, Veloflex Master tires, and that's it for now.
Then I'd ride the daylights out of her.
Oh yeah, I love your bike!

I think it is great as is, Veloce is a very reliable group. White bar tape and a black saddle and you are made in the shade. Sell the original parts and you could upgrade some of the parts if you so choose.
