1990's Landshark Road Shark

Any idea what this might be worth? Not sure of exact year. Few minor paint chips and a very small dent in top tube. Miche bb and headset - both in good working order.

Thanks!

It might be worth photographing it with a different backdrop.

Auchen, he's not the owner. It's a CL bike. This thread belongs in the valuation forum.

Nice loo.

Rare frames, but a dent is going to take it down some. Can't give a ballpark figure on this one.

BTW, you can determine the year by looking at the SS # on the inside of the left rear dropout. The first two numbers are the year.

Beautiful frames and great worksmanship. If I hadn't been building frames myself in '87 to the early '90s I would have been riding one of John's.

I paid $400 for a complete, mostly period DA, Roadshark in So Cal over the Christmas holiday. Bike is a rider, got a new stem only to fix the reach.

You do the math from there.

Many of these are made of 753 - should be a great ride, and NOT cheap in its day. Plus, that tubing is barely equalled today.

My favorite steel bikes. Two 1991 Land Shark Road Sharks (the Sunset was too small and is gone) and a 1995 Land Shark X Shark. Oh, and don't forget the Andy Hampsten story.

You know I was looking for Italian and chrome.....but

this one caught my eye. If I did purchase it, I wonder if I would get tired of the bling?

Unless it is to be an everyday rider I doubt it, if you did I am sure you would have no trouble selling it.

This might add a little diversity to my corrale of bikes, consisting of a De Rosa Primato, Eddy Merckx Strada O.S. and a LOOK KG281.

Love the Landshark Highgear.

One of the women on our ride this morning had one, but yours definitely "wins" on style points.

Hers was all white, with only a head badge.

Down right tame for a Landshark.

Pretty bicycles for sure though. Great performers as well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I respect your view on good bikes, as well as Bianchigirls.

I live like 5 miles from John Slawta(Landshark). If you didn't know he built the frame that Andy Hampstein won that famous snowy stage in the Giro on. He now builds pretty much all carbon stuff now I believe. I haven't gotten a chance to stop by his stop and meet him since I've been here.

I don't mind the name. My only quibble regarding is that when I set up an alert for Landshark, I kept getting hits for Jimmy Buffet LandShark Lager signs and Nike Landshark shoes. It's a much better name than Public Bikes, imho. I'd think twice before buying a Public for fear that someone would walk away with it thinking it was a public bike.

Andy Hampsten took over the lead of the Giro on that stage and then won overall but he came in 2nd place on the Gavia stage to Breukink.

Epic ride though, VERY epic!

I know I sometimes get alerts for Holsters, and even an occasioanl dress, gown or key making machine.

OH BTW what size is this and just where is it?

It's just about a 63 CTT and on ebay. I won't have all the cash for a few more weeks, so I told him if he still has it, I may want to deal.

He should take notes from Crumpton on how to do carbon fibre.

Found this in my search for LS.

Wish we had a shop like that around here.

I was thinking....If I do get this bike, I will for the first time in all my years of riding, have to be cognisant of what I wear on this thing. Would I be safe in all black?
