?? on Women's Raleigh Olive Green 3 - speed
came across one badged to Nottingham England at a thrift shop. Has an internal hub 3-speed and cantilever brakes. Fenders front and back. I think the seat has been replaced, but looks complete. All chrome has speckles, decals are worn, but not bad. They were asking $75. I know nothing about them....what is a good price for this bike? Was thinking of getting and fixing it up for wife.....

That's a fine price if it's ride-ready or close. My opinion anyway...
Occasionally you'll see them cheaper... but most of the time in decent condition folks ask a bit more.

Depends on where it is at, I have paid that and even more when I needed one in a specific size. Does it really have cantilever brakes? That would be a first. From the basic description I would believe a step through Raleigh Sports.

Let's see....to answer the questions....tires are both flat and are somewhat dry rotted. I went back and looked and it has center-pull brakes (sorry bout that). If it had good tires, no rust, and a light and a bell, it would look a lot like this one I found on the web => https://www.flickr.com/photos/zombdog...9185/lightbox/

Determining Vintage Bicycle Value is very difficult. For one thing, some things such as where the bike is, how big the bike is, time of year and state of the economy also have great impact on the final value a bicycle will fetch.
For a Raleigh three speed, $75 is not bad at all, depending on condition, size and gender (man's or woman's frame).

Rust and rotted out tires, no, unless you have the tools/time/aptitude/interest in doing all the work yourself. I use tire condition as an indicator of overall mechanical condition condition (what I can't easily see). It takes a long time for tires to rot out, like 15 to 20 years around here (depending how it was stored).
If it had good tires, no rust and a bell, it would be a better bike and worth more. Bad tires and rust = huge discount around here.
Without pictures, its all guess work.
The fact that it is still there is a good indicator on value. Good deals at thrift shops here last one to two minutes, seriously.

I doubt it will get that cheap. Note, while at $50 it could be a good deal for someone with the tools/time/aptitude/skills, etc., to rehab it, it still may be a lousy deal for someone without those assets.

We sell those tires in blackwall or gumwall for $10 each if you walk into our shop, or more on the web but we include a tube and a rim strip.
