Probably a nice vintage rider. Depending on condition offer 175 to 225. Run of the mill Shimano parts.

The few I have seen always seemed like good bikes but I never saw one like this. I agree with Curious George it may be a tad pricey.

Just about any mid level vintage road bicycle, in good condition, is worth $250.00 these days, in my opinion. Offer less, of course, but do not feel bad if you end up paying that amount.

As far as Miele bicycle go, I have owned lots and, for the most part, they are well made bicycles. Here is the one that has become a permanent member of my keeper bikes - my Miele #17 a very rare Miele bicycle...

You might also want to take a peek at a scan of an old Miele brochure or two...

Plain gauge cromo + light action components = $175 here. It would be a stretch to call this mid grade. I guess it depends what you call mid grade.

Agree with the other posters, $175-225. That bike has been on there for awhile, but I'm not sure what the original asking price was. You have some leverage because of the seat issue. If you're close, go take a look ! I have an early '90s Miele and the ride and workmanship are pretty good.

Subject bicycle is a 1987 Miele Binova 12. It was an upper entry level model with a plain gauge CrMo main triangle mated to hi-tensile stays and forks. The Light Action derailleurs, while entry level, are indexed and good performers, though the notched rear arm is a structural weak point on the rear derailleur. The wheels appear to be replacements, During this period, Miele used Ambrosio rims on all but its top models. Brakes are the ubiquitous Dia-Compe 500. Tertiary components are good and typical of the price range and era. Overall the Binova was a well made and reasnbably light (25 lb advertised weight) bicycle.

For my area, the the price is definitely on the high side, but if it's been on the market for a while I imagine the seller is not willing to budge much, if any, on his price. He's probably willing to let it sit until spring. I imagine Philly is a pretty hot market in the spring and fall, with all the colleges in the area. There's a good chance he'll get his price, or very close to it, in a couple of months.
