Late 80s Surly Cross Check value

Just scored a late 80s 58cm Surly Cross Check frame and forks with brakes and headset this evening. $80. Frame is in very good shape. Some light surface rust around the eyelets, and some scratches, but basically just a bit grimy and dirty. Needs a good cleaning and a wax job...should cleanup very nicely. Frame and forks are very straight....no major dings or dents anywhere. The gray area just behind the "cross check" on the top tube is just a small shipping label that I will peel off and clean.

Anyways, wanted to know if I did ok on the price. Thanks!

I think you did fine for $80. FYI, Surly didn't exist in the late '80's, the brand was started in the late '90's.

Anyone know where the serial numbers might be on this so that I can get a more specific date guess on it?

Got the two frames mixed up on years, as I also bought a late 80s cannondale from the seller.
