Bianchi Strada Appraisal
Hi all:
I've recently inherited what appears to be a Bianchi Strada Racing Bike I've searched around and am finding various figures online, but after reading a bunch of forum posts I think I have compiled all of the pertinent info needed for a proper appraisal. The bicycle does have that sticker on it that says "Bianchi campione del mondo 1986-1987 Colorado Springs" So that would put this bike as a 1987/88 model, I think? The word Strada is written on the bars. the model # appears to be Z401 Cr-Mo 3 main tubes Sugino VO (written on the pedals) Tires (21x1.1/8 ) My (uneducated) guess is that these are all original parts. The bike is in very good condition. What would you say it's worth? http://www.flickr.com/photos/57804223@N03/6918617427/ |

Welcome to the Bike Forums.
Determining Vintage Bicycle Value is a complex task, however; in a nut shell... The Strada you are lucky enough to have looks to be in really nice condition. It is close to entry level in the Bianchi line up and will offer a recreational ride. Depending on your location, you should fetch between $150.00 USD and $250.00 for the bicycle. That said, the buyer who shows up first might surprise you. Best to set one's sites a bit high and allow for the barter bug to bite. |
Stem shifters, brake lever extensions, and the use of 27" tires by the late 80's point to a lower level bike, as do the 3 main tubes only sticker. Around my parts anyway, that'll limit the upside (depending on all the condition factors) to about $200. If it was Bianchi Celeste that might of added a few $. Condition is going to determine whether it's a $100 bike, or can go up to that $200 limit.

If you're planning on selling, the quality of your ad will affect the selling price greatly. Your description is good but you'll need more/better photos to get the best response. |
