1980's Schwinn Deluxe Varsity value?

I cleaned up all of the parts on the bike, and washed the frame. I installed new brake, and gear cables. Also got a new saddle, and handlebar tape. I was wondering how much I can get on this bike, because I really want to buy a better frame. The bike shifts perfectly through the gears.

Sounds like you've done a lot of work on this, but you need to do a little more to get a decent price for it. Please keep in mind that I am just trying to help.
A) Polish spoke protector and crankset , again.
B) Matching tape on handlebar where tape ends
C) Clean rust/dirt off the stem. (WD40 and brass wool )
D) Clean tires with brillo pad or similar product . If you can pick up a good set of tires on the cheap, it would help.
E) If the ferrules on the cable ends don't fit where they're supposed to go, just remove them.
F) Take good pics for your add and have fun ! Good luck to you.

I'd say about $50-75. There isn't much to be made in flipping a Varsity unless you get it very cheap already in great condition.

I would also say less than $100 the problem with Varsities and similar Schwinns when it comes to getting a good price is there are a lot of them for sale in most markets in excellent condition. I often see a a half dozen or more listed on my local CL in excellent condition for $150 or less with a lot of them just not selling.

In the Boston area, about 4 weeks from now, that bike would go for at least $175.

Well from what I have seen and read Boston is one of the hottest markets for vintage road bikes right now. You get about a $50-$100 primium in that market over most other markets.
