Old School Schwinns & Peugeot

My father asked me to find a good home for my parents' old-school Schwinn bikes. I don't have a sense for value, but I'd prefer to avoid putting them on fleabay. Please let me know interest and potential value.

I happen to be an avid collector of '80's and '90's Italian steel, but I have absolutely no sense of value for these old Schwinns. Might consider trades for Campagnolo / Italian / lightweight racing bikes. Essentially a 3-way trade to facilitate my Dad's effort to clean out the garage. (I'd do a straight trade for an NOS Eddy Merckx MX-Leader in 54cm!)

1976 Schwinn Collegiate (Women's)
Fire Engine Red. 5-speed. In essentially NOS condition. All decals intact. No marks on any of the bolts. The only thing that has been changed is the air in the (original) tires. Probably saw 25 miles in its life. Serial Number DM511501, built April 1976.

1956 Schwinn Racer. (Mens)
Black. 3-speed. In used but excellent condition. Back fender and seat have been replaced with Schwinn replacements. Shows some wear but in overall excellent condition. Serial Number U76612, built Feb 8, 1956.

1979/1980 Peugeot Men's town bike. Model and exact condition TBD.
Bought in Paris when we lived there in early '80's. Townie-style bike with fenders, generator-powered lights, wingnut quick releases. All original except RD replaced by an old Campy unit.

All owned by original owner, a meticulous obsessive-compulsive engineer. Always garaged and well maintained, even if only lightly used. Currently in Albuquerque, NM so no rust anywhere.

Pictures forthcoming. If there's a better forum for this post, please let me know.

Sizes for Schwinn & Peugeot

The Men's bikes are probably 54-55cm. The Women's bike is probably 52-53, but those are ballpark estimates since we are a "mid-sized" family. Again, I will post more information and pictures as I get it.

Oh, and since I'm a new member, I can't PM. I've been active in the bike hobby for decades though, going all the way back to the Rec.Bicycles.Marketplace and Rec.Bicycles.Tech usegroups in the early days of the internetz.

Thank you
