81 Trek on CL
Thoughts?
https://desmoines.craigslist.org/bik/2888710204.html
I am tall and I like old bikes, so this one is speaking to me. Looks like a lower end 81 Trek in decent shape. My guess is that this bike has a lot of time on it.
I think it's at least $100 over-priced, but if I'm wrong and its worth something it wouldn't kill me to pick it up. I just don't know Treks that well. My last one was about a 1990 that was found on the curb in front of a neighbor's house on trash day.... pricing not really a factor.
By the way, "great" riding weather in Des Moines in March means its over 30 when you wake up in the morning.

There is some GREAT riding weather here.
I am not positive on year or model of this Trek. It may be a 1981 410/412?? It has a 25in steel frame, SunTour components, Dia-Comp brakes, newer 27in wheels and tires (I have original wheels). I also have the original leather handlebar wraps but not original seat. Bike is in fairly decent shape. I bought in 1991-1992 and rode until I bought new Specialized Tarmac a couple of years ago. Ride on trainer once in a while. Would be interested in selling to a good home. $350.00 ?? Decent Offer. Might take a trade... Not going to give away!! It doesn't eat anything. If interested call 515 3one4 nine two two 4.
NO SCAMMERS OR SPAMMERS!!! Does that really scare off the scammers?

I agree with you, about $250 , although if it has new(er) tires and the maintenance is up to date, maybe $300. I would pass just because of the yellow tape !

I've sold several 410 Treks, the most I have gotten was $210, and that bike was a more desirable size, in pristine, ready to ride condition. Unless you are in a red hot market, like San Fran, $350 is ridiculous.
Bike is in "fairly decent shape" = not pristine, worth more like $150. Paint looks a little scraped up to me, I would pass. Seller is dreaming.

Everyone with an old steel Trek thinks they have gold. In reality, they made plenty of run-of-the-mill road bikes.
I've seen similar Treks listed for $125-$175. Keep looking and you'll find one.

+2 $350 should buy a 600 or 700 series with better tubing and components.
