    '83 Fuji Touring Series IV

Picked up a 1983 Fuji Touring Series IV at an estate sale today. I talked myself out of it for about an hour, and then decided to drive back up there and pick it up.

It is gigantic! I ride a 54cm, so unfortunately I can't even give it a test ride for fun.

It's in pretty decent shape, except for paint chipping and a very small dent on the downtube near the waterbottle bosses. It is not very deep though.

Considering the small dent (pictured below), what could I be looking to get for it after a a full rebuild?

Stripped the bike completely today, and regreased the wheels. Can't wait to continue working on it tomorrow, as it will be my first complete rebuild.

Touring bikes are a hot item right now, and this one has cantilever brakes which is a good sign. Cyclone is another good sign, but the super large size is not. I'd guess around $300 if you can find a buyer around 6' 6"...

The large size was a big concern of mine while deciding if I should make the purchase. I figured though that since I have no real rush to flip it, the right sized buyer is bound to come around eventually.

Good thinking. That big frame set, coupled with the dent, dramatically reduces resale opportunity. But, the touring style/design is a big plus and right now is the time to push to sell the bicycle - Spring is springing, in many places, and interests in buying bicycles is running high.

Good luck with the bicycle and, for what it is worth, an old touring bicycle came my way this week, also. Sadly, at 52-53cm, it is too small for me...
