Shimano deer head FD

I purchased an old Peugeot MTB and a Diamondback Apex for $20. I know they are mountain bikes, im posting about the deer head on the FD. A long time ago, i read something about these but i totally forgot. I originally posted in the mountain forum but they told me you could help me with this item:

Whats it worth all cleaned up?

They are nice derailleurs and the forerunner of Deore, but I am not certain they are valuable. This one says it is for a Halfstep gearing so that may garner some interest.

Bianchigirl has it pretty much right. The derailleurs are not worth a great deal - at the moment. My guess is, however, that because they are a bit ornate, with the stag's head embossed into the components, that one day they might be worth a dollar or two.

For my money, if I had any, I would give as much at $25.00 for a decent Stag's Head rear derailleur for my Tom Richey. I could use a set of thumb shifters, also and then the bike would be complete and original. Right down to the Richey slicks...
