    1993 Pinarello Banesto Replica:what's market value?

    Frame Size: 55 cm

    You might have to explain what the frame tubing is all aobut. is it Pinarello tubing "by Columbus" by any chance, like what Bianchi had? The bike frame being a team replica helps.
    From your description, it looks like the bike's kind of a frankenbike with a mix of compnents brand and models on it which affects the price quite a bit. Most buyers would prefer a complete group. A Chorus post just does not sound right living with a Mirage group and the DA headset sounds like it would be lonely amongst all the Italian stuff.. From the pic, it does not look like you have a 1R stem on it, It almost looks like there's a conventional looking bar clamp on the stem which might make it a model 1A. a much better stem than the 1R functionally IMO, but cheaper. a 1R will get you more money....need more pics...more pics....more pics!!

    I dunno, maybe 600ish bucks max if the tubing (as I suspect that it's the frame that will carry most of this bike's value. The component salad is kinda just there to make it ridable...unless you had something "special" in the mix like Delta brakes and/ or C Record derailleurs.) is special and the bike is in close to perfect condition. Lots of scratches and scuffs and tired components can bring that down to 400ish bucks as condition is always critical to pricing bikes.

    It's Pinarello's own tubing. The Mirage/Avanti groupset is a complete set -Avanti was renamed Mirage. I think that all the upgraded components were fitted around 1996 prior to me buying the bike. It's a little on the heavy side, but quick on the flat. Condition wise its very good, but not new old stock.

    Thanks for posting the bigger pics. That is a beautiful bike! And it looks like it in good condition. I might have to up my estimate a bit on it as it presents much better than I first thought. Maybe 750 max to the right buyer on a very good day??
    And yes, that is a 1A model stem on it.
    Not sure if Pinarello's "own tubing" made at that time helps with higher model line bikes. If it had a well known tubing maker connected to it and the tubing sticker might say "by Columbus" or "by Reynolds" or something similar, then it could help elevate the value as those names are what people usually look for when purchasing a bike. Pinarellos own tubing does not hurt the value, but it does not enhance it either.
    Unless I'm wrong, I thought that the Mirage line was kind of the mid line or lower model line for Campagnolo at that time too, I would prefer seeing at least a Chorus level full group on a special bike frame.
    Frankly, you might be better off selling the bike as spearate parts to get the full values for everything. I just feel that the components might keep the value of the whole bike lower than it could be while the frame, with its team replica theme, will most likely hold its own very well. Sold separately, you can service different levels of the markets that might be looking for a specific component and not really looking for a whole bike, so the buyer might be willing to pay more for the component as he might need it to finish a build up.

    More valuable as a part-out. Do you have the original fork?

    You could get $300 to $500 for the frame

    $200 for the wheels

    $50 for the seat

    $75 for the bar and stem

    $250 for the rest of the junk

    Unfortunately the original fork never came with the bike- but I have grown to like the Kinesis fork- its quite unusual.
