1972 Raleigh DL-1L

I am considering this bike as a purchase for my mom. I can get it for $100. Thoughts?

The original Brooks is included, but is kinda crusted out and is beginning to tear through some rivets along the back:

She wants something with an IGH, though is also considering something modern like a Trek Pure or Raleigh Retroglide for simplicity.

Is the fork messed up? It looks weird. Just remember it won't brake well in the rain. It also won't be good if your mom is really short.
Fwiw- I love dl1s. $100 is a great price, even if you need to replace the fork- at least as long as everything else is okay.

If everything but the saddle is good, go for it. They are by and large worth the trouble.

You had better purchase it quickly. It will not last long, at that price. The last two I sold were very similar and went for close to $500 each plus another couple of hundred for shipping.

Great bike to ride around town, in case you are interested.
