I got, I think...

An '88 Stumpjumper - I'm old now so my brain ain't what it used to be, (Which wasn't that much more...). I'm the original owner, btw. It's hideously ugly pink and green, all components are Deore/Deore SIS. Everything on it is original except for the rear rim that I smashed in the past. I'd like to know what it's worth, if anything?

Any help is much appreciated!

Eben

About $120 in that condition, $200 fixed up but without decals, and $250 or more parted out.

If the tires aren't rotted out and are Ground Controls, they add about $60 to the value. They look rotted in the picture, though.

I'm probably interested in the pedals and stem if you part it out.

1988 is probably the right year, or very close (U-brakes under the chainstay.)

Stumpjumpers hold their value better than most old MTBs, but this one is missing the decals and the condition is rough. As-is, I'd say about $100 or so.

But do you know what parting out intais? you need to remove and clean very part. You need speccial tools to remove the cranks and the bottom bracket bearng or you'll have to pay someone to do for you. then you take a few good pics of every part and post them in your thread. then comes time to hagle price for every item and once it gets sold you have to pack and ship each part. in the end you may end up with a frame and a pair of wheels that you can't sell and will cost too much to make into a bike again.

you may make more selling it bit by bit but is it worth your time?

If this was close to me depending condition I would snatch it up for $120 in a heatbeat. It would make a great city bike or gravel grinder.

Why don't you ride?

Well, that's a good point!
Might as well offer it locally and call it good...
I just have too many irons in the fire to ride any more - fishing, hockey, golf...
