    Bianchi Campione D'Italia

'Allo, picked this CdI from a garage sale for about 80$ Planning on flipping it.

    -MKS Pedals
    -Columbus Cromor
-Quattro Branded Groupset (Ofmega Cranks, Quattro Branded? Derrailleurs, Suntour Accushift)
    -Ofmega Headset
-Shimano RX100 SLR dual pivot brakes w/ slr RX100 aero levers
    -Gippieme Fluted Seatpost
-Selle Italia (looks like a turbo?) Seat
-Quattro Hubs to FiR EL19 rims w/ Miche Skewers
    -No rust

It seems stored most of it's life as there is not that typical shoe wear on the side of the cranks, paint is clean, but the Campione D'Italia decal on the top tube is pretty much worn away. Everything is cleaning and polishing up nicely. It's a 7 Speed

What do you guys think would be a good price to set when all is done.

Big size is a limiting factor. Here (Richmond Virginia), craigslist sale, 250-350$. It will sit a long time at that price.

With good presentation and marketing it will bring $250-350 on Ebay. Maybe $300 max on CL if you're in a big market and don't mind waiting around.

Looks like it needs some work tires, bartape, tuneup.. maybe a complete overhaul for the bearings.

It does look big is that a 61 or 63? Pretty sure that is the '89 model although the brakes were upgraded at some point.

Do you think I could aim in the 400 area? After all is done and rebuilt.

That's where I'd start, but I wouldn't expect it to sell quickly at that price. I got $350 for a slightly earlier CdI a few years ago.

In a smaller size, maybe. It won't hurt to start there, but I'd be expecting local sale at about 250$. I don't think I would go below that. The plusses are it is a nice clean Bianchi (a very salable and recognized brand) and you're getting it rideable. The minuses are it is a huge size and not celeste. I've sold small celeste Campiones in the 350-450$ range. You have to subtract 50 to 100 for the size and a like amount for it not being celeste.

But start at 4 if you do not need to make a quick sale. You never know.

Would a trade for this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/3071542408.html be fine?

You would come out a winner in an even swap.

i said in another thread, but this bike is absolutely stunning. i think a set of tires with natural sidewalls would top it off. either way i cant help but stare.

edit: i look like a fool for not reading... good luck with the trade

I agree the OP did a stellar job of cleaning up this bike.

+1000000 Great job on the cleanup! While right now, the trade for the Lemonds is a no brainer, I wouldn't do it. That Bianchi is too sweet to let it go. Ten years from now, that Lemond is just another of a myriad of modern bikes, while that Bianchi is something special.

Nice work. The time you spent cleaning it up and photographing it so well paid off. Never would have gotten that price without it.

And that bike looks 100 times better than any Celeste Bianchi I've seen...

Excellent... was reading through and was thinking that the very large frame size would make this very desirable to many people who struggle to find larger vintage frames and a Campione D'Italia in this kind of shape with a full overhaul should be worth at least $500.00.

Your $80.00 purchase price was a hell of a deal.

Except for the non-matching tires. That is the finishing touch on this one.

    Gorgeous bike.

As for the trade......that would put you in good shape.
Having a flat tire as part of the total cycling experience is highly overrated. Knowing how to fix one quickly is not.

You did well. That would never move at 500 here. Here, that's ballpark for a Campy equipped frame. I'm uncertain where Vallejo is, but I would guess from that price you're near a big population center.

I ride this size frame, and have never had the slightest issue finding them. Much easier to find than a small or moderately sized frame.

What year is your Bianchi? Is that correct decal for it? Check ebay for them. There is a gentleman in Australia who selles decals, I believe he has that style and perhaps he can make you a set. Also check with Velocals
