specialized allez - 86/87? White with blue/pink.
Cant get my buddy down further than 150 on a Specialized allez from 87 (?)
It white with pink/blue highlights and GXP cranks and brakes.
Needs some minor work and a refurb.
I'd like to jump on it just because its available but anyone think theres still meat on the bone to flip? I'm thinking $225 may be tough sell due to colors and 59cm size.
Still would be a fun bike to fix up.

I think the it might be a little later than 87. The margin isn't there for a flip, unless you like to werk4cheep.

$150 for a keeper, great. For a flip, not around here. $100 max, and even then, the margin would be on the thin side (figuring cables, tires, chain, freewheel, bearings, grease, bar tape, bottle cage, and on the maybe list: bottom bracket, headset, brake pads, pedals, saddle). Assumptions made due to no picture, this is what I commonly have to put on bikes.
Realize a surprise here and there can really cost: open up a wheel hub, find damage, see that margin go away.
"Fortunately", I have been a bike hoarder (I would prefer the term "collector") for years. I probably have two years worth of projects in hand right now, and I picked up 7 more projects in the last two weeks. Its a sickness.
I just pulled out a bike I have had in the project queue for 3 or 4 years. I guess it was time to work on it...

yeah, pretty thin, I think I want something to work on over the summer but I probably should just ride more.

Looks like hes down to 120 on it but I'm going to try and sell it for him at a swapmeet this weekend and see how much he can get for it.
