Mercury Cyclemaster

Not sure if I've attached the pictures correctly.
I'm looking for any information on this item. It appears to be a motorized bike. The label reads:

Mercury Model Cyclemaster
Mercury Industries B'Ham Ltd
England

Thank you for the welcome! I've been trying to find information on this item which is currently in my father's basement in NJ. It belonged to my uncle who told a story about it being dropped from airplanes during WWII. I've brightened my pics and added a couple more. I will take some outside pics when I am there again this weekend. We are curious about this bike's history. Thank you again!
