Help...what is this bike?
First post...hello everyone!
I just picked up this bike last week. Seller said he thinks it is a 68 Norco. Can anyone confirm that for me? Or at least point me in the right direction?
BB stamped ser #: D S B M
40103786
I plan on building it up with a new drivetrain & brakes, bars etc... I want to make it a nice daily rider.
& yeah I know the brake leavers are on wrong...don't ask... lol
Thanks!

the bmx style unicrown forks, and the handlebars stem look modern as well as seatpost stem along with other features. Also, I no not think Norco was a bike brand in 1968. I would guess that it is less than 20 years old. It looks like a pretty good cruiser though. close ups of the rear derailer and handle bar area might help to identify it.
Edit: I see that Norco started in 1964, so the frame could be vintage, but I still think that the frame is from a modern cruiser.

Thanks for your input. It would seem that the bike may have been tinkered with along the way so it is hard to say what is original etc... Either way, I plan on making it into a decent rider. I have been looking into a multi geared hub, disc forks, who knows what else... gonna have fun with it!
I put the grip shifter on it ..just playing around with some parts I had laying around.

The frame looks to be late 60's early 70's. But most of the parts on the bike including the the fork are much newer looks like mostly stuff from the 80's. This makes it real hard to give any kind of ID on the bike. If the frames good it should build up as a OK rider, but I wouldn't put a alot of money in it. This bike will never have any collectors value and you can buy a used hard frame MTN bike which will make a lot better rider fairly cheap.

You could turn that into a very cool Klunker replica. Google it and check out images of some originals and modern replicas. Klunkers were the first mountain bikes built on older heavyweight and cruiser style frames.

Yes! I did some searching & after about an hour oir so I'm hooked! The ideas are swirling around in my head...
I have the bike completely apart right now so I can prep the frame for paint. I ordered a Truativ adapter so I can put a regular euro bb in it, we'll see how that works.... I didn't mind the one piece but it was WAY out of wack. Even after new bearings/cups etc.
Anyway, I'll post my progress. Thanks all...
