Old Batavus
I've just moved to Brussels, and the bike I've been borrowing is in the shop for a week. I don't have much to spend on a bike (at the moment), but I need something now. I wouldn't be flipping this bike, I'd buy it, use it, upgrade it, and keep it as a foul weather/lend-to-visiting-friends bike. I have plenty of space for storing bikes (private cellar accessible from garden).
The listing was posted in May, so even though it says the €95 is a firm price, there might be some wiggle room depending on the person's situation.

This Batavus seems nice enough as a commuter. They say it's in working condition, which is what I need.
For future upgrading though, how easy would it be to convert to an IGH, or rear derailluer with a couple of speeds? I'd also like to put a dynamo front hub and ditch the battery lights. What other TLC would it need to be a respectable ride?
Are there any pieces that are definitely worth keeping? That absolutely must be gotten rid of (safety, etc).

Have you priced a new bike in the shop with what you want? By the time you replace the components you list, you'd be up for the price of new, or perhaps newer second-hand bike and you wouldn't have to change things over.

Seems like a nice bike for for the money.
Upgrading shouldn't be too hard you would need to use some clamps like on older Raleigh 3spds for the cable but it is doable. The dyno too you just need to find someone who sells wheels sets that what your looking for. When I built my Nexus 8 IGH bike I got a nice set of wheels with a dyno front hub (no switch
for about $4ish I think. If you only want/need three speeds I am sure you can find lots of used wheels at your local shops

Thanks, for the practical advice. I hadn't realized how much wheels cost, and that if I'm looking to make these kinds of changes the drivetrain will not be the only expense.
