    1986 Bridgestone MB-2 in Japan

    Here it is: http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k155456567

40,000 yen is $500.00 and some change. Too much for me. I'm hoping the seller will lower the starting bid if the auction carries over, which it probably will. The bike seems to be the real deal, judging from the Bridgestone catalogue at Sheldon's place. In brief, the seller says the frame and fork are sound but the wheels and other parts need some work. What do you think this bike might sell for in the US? Just curious.

The pics are not very good.

86 is a pre Grant Petersen designed MTB. The value goes up from the late 80's to early 90's. MB-1s are worth more than the higher numbers. That bike would probably only be worth $100 to $150 here.

Yeah, that's what I thought. That would be somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 yen. I doubt the seller will ever go that low for a starting bid, but I'll keep my eye on it.
