Motobecane...

Anybody recognize this Motobecane, despite the poor pictures?
Low to mid-range model?

Thanks!

Just not enough there to tell exactly. I was tempted to contact the seller being that I'm a Motobecane lover. It looked to me like it could be one of their mid-level bikes since there were no turkey levers and it has downtube shifters.

By the way, I live in Boyne City. It appears we are looking at the same listings

Looks low end to me. My 1974 Peugeot UO8 came with DT shifters, and no turkey levers.

Hmm, chrome fork ends, top tube cable stops, Mafac brakes, Stronglight cotterless crankset and a SunTour rear derailleur. That pretty much describes a boom era Grand Touring. If I'm correct, the frame is high tensile steel and the rims should be aluminum. Given the era, it could be considered upper entry level or lower midrange, depending on your point of view.

That's where I pegged it, too. Sun Tour doesn't scare me at all, in fact I've got a collection of Sprint stuff I'm about to put on a '72 Super Sport frame. I've also read good things about the Cyclone line, and of course Ultegra.

oldsCOOL, yep I browse CL whenever I am "up north". My wife and I are two recently retired teachers, enjoying the heck out of our new schedule. We've got a 5th wheel on a permanent campsite just south of Benzonia, closing up this weekend. We worked hard today and will probably take a road trip towards TC tomorrow.

This one should be circa 1973, in which case that SunTour should be a VGT.
