Good Trade?
I have a trek 330 in great shape.Due to a shoulder injury i need a hybrid.I have a offer to trade for a Cannondale r900. here is what he emailed me."I have a Cannondale R900 that is a hybrid/cross bike. Has Shimano Deore shifter brake levers. Flat bar with 700c tires.600 8x2 drive train." I don't know what year and i have seen the r900 as both a road and as a hybrid.I don't know much about bikes.I have a old GT Talera that I use as a commuter and for pleasure.Any advice would be appreciated.

Without pics, no idea, as condition is everything. Myself, trades rarely make sense, and older flat bar hybrids sell cheap. Meanwhile, steel Treks are red hot in the market right now. So I would just sell the Trek for cash, and you should be able to find a good hybrid, and end up with cash to spare.
I am not familiar with a Cannondale R900 that is a "hybrid". The hybrid Cannondales are typically "H" models. Really sounds like a frankenbike, started with a R900 road bike, tossed some of the nice road stuff (like the 600 STI levers), and converted it to a hybrid. Too bad, as the R900 was a very nicely equipped racing bike (and the 600 8 speed bits just confirm it to be a R900 road bike).
Putting flat bars, shifters and levers on a racing bike does not make it a hybrid.
You also might not be that happy with an aluminum frame racing bike. Its personal taste, and you may just like steel.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
