Help Identifying Mystery Frame
Hey Guys,
As the title says I've got a bike frame but no idea what kind. I posted this in the Road forum and they said I might have better luck here.
When I first got this bike it was wrapped in electrical tape and a bit rusted. I cleaned it up and made a SS townie-type bike. Recently I've been thinking about making it my daily ride and would like a bit more information on the frame before I do anything too drastic. I'll post pictures below but a quick description - its wicked light, size 52 (?), internal cable routing, it came with the headset, it has 'Tange' written around the fork's dropout, and I found a bit of what looked like royal blue paint that I believe was the frames original color.
Any help is much appreciated!

I'm 99% sure you have a Trek bonded (glued) aluminum frame. Based on Trek serial number info on the Vintage Trek site it was made in 1992.
Based on the 1992 catalog it could be one of many models: 1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, or 1420. The 1000 was available in blue that year, so that is my guess. Does it have a 27.2mm seatpost? That would clinch it for me.

+1 on Trek - I was getting the same vibe. CK headset is a nice bonus.
