Schwinn Paramount, real?, worth it?

I am coming back into biking after many years out. Back in the day a Paramount the coolest of the cool. This bike calls out to me, but I don't know if it is a siren call or is just saying "fool." There seem to be unanswered questions and voids in the specs. What do you think?

I think that fork is bent. If I'm correct, the bike would need a careful examination with an experienced eye.

On second thought, it's too close to call, it might just be the angle of the fork to the camera. If it's bent, the damage may be pretty minimal. Could be a bargain!

Even if it isn't a Paramount there are about $600 worth of components on it.

I smell a fake. It's impossible to tell from those pics though. The chain stay cable stop looks wrong.

A real late sixties P13 Paramount would have chrome plated head lugs, fork crown, fork tips, and the last several inches of the chain stays and seat stayswhere they converge at the rear dropouts. The lower priced P12 with painted head lugs and fork crown, and the Stronglight crankset instead of Campy NR, would have chrome plated fork tips and the last several inches of the chain stays and seat stays.

Here's our own Pastor Bob's 1966 P13.

Something's fishy.

Try to get the serial number from the seller.

Fork looks a little bent possibly, but not bad. Missing chrome is suspect. Maybe a poor repaint? Still definitely worth checking out though. If it's real, it's well worth it.

From the minimal images, I would say it could well be and most probably has been repainted, maybe even powdercoated.... perish the thought.
Still, worth seeing in person. With $600 in your pocket.

Just when I think I have seen them all, another jaw dropping example is shown. What a spectacular Paramount.

The lack of chrome and flat black paint are kinda suspect. Yet based on the components it is worth ging to see in person. The bike does appear to be worth most of the asking price from the components. If it is a real paramount and the frame is good it is likely worth significantly more than the asking price.

+1 Value for components only. Learn the Paramount serial number system (its pretty distinctive). Maybe it was a Paramount. Bringing the frame back could be quite an undertaking.

Good looking bike. No clue if it's real or not but if it's a Paramount that seems like a low price. Good luck with your decision.
