Lotta cool stuff going on with that bike. Barcons, biplane fork, and are those lugs chrome or polished stainless? Six-speed freewheel and drillium Sugino crank as well as the Vx RD all point to early or mid 1980s, I think.

I don't know what it is, but I'd have paid $175 if it's fairly light. Any sticker indicating what the tubing is?

It looks 1970s, has some bits that look like a Nishiki. I have a Nishiki Competition with the same hubs, same stem, etc. This one looks like one model up.

Compe stem, Vx RD, Suntour bar cons, no bottle cage braze ons = 1970s. Rear wheel could be a replacement.

Fork does not look like Nishiki. TMar will probably know what it is.

I notice that bike a couple of weeks ago on eBay as well... Seller is not providing much information. Just looking at the parts makes me think early-mid '80s. I was trying to decide if this is a repaint with some obscure name decals to throw off the bike thieves in an urban environment... Like taking a high-end Italian and putting Huffy stickers on it - don't laugh - some of the bike messengers in downtown Cleveland do stuff like that, and crappy rattle-can paintjobs, too!

ya, seller claims its 70s but looking at his other items its the only bike related thing, and hes got a lot of randomness so i doubt he knows what hes talking about

My guess is a Nishiki Pro. The components, lugs and fork crown are right.
