1984 Pinarello Treviso
I am looking for a nice vintage road bike I can use as a "training" bike (When I say "training", I mean give my carbon bike a rest for a nice rip around a local hotspot) and one that looks amazing at the same time. It will most likely eventually be used mainly as a commuter bike.

So far I have found these bikes, but was wondering what you all thought of the price, etc? I am looking for something in the sub-1000 price range.
Also, is there anything in specific I should be looking for when looking at vintage road bikes? Any particular frames (aluminum vs steel etc) or group sets? (clearly I like campy haha) Can I expect a bike like that to be able to do 50 km (fairly hard riding) a week? Or is that unreasonable?
Thanks for the help in advance!

1) Pinarello - seller is claiming SL tubing but is avoiding taking picture of a sticker. I would say you are dealing with mid level Pinarello, because the original group on that Pinarello is Campagnolo Triomphe, a low end group from Campy at that time. Worst part is rust - you cannot know how deep it is until you strip it off. I would not buy it since bike seems neglected and the frame could be in pretty bad condition from inside out. You will notice Campy SR RD, but I don't think that's original. I think this si Catena Lusso model.
2) Nobody know about Cramerotti, what is that? Who cares - it's unknown and there's your chance to negotiate about the price, tubing is high end, group is complete and very, very good, campy droupouts etc. Bike is in an overall very good condition. You could try to reduce the price by 150-200$. Also... ask the guy about original seatpost.
3) Nishiki - just pass it, no, just... no. Whenever you see NJS or Keirin in the add just forget about it. For 800$ you can get Suntour Superbe Pro last generation groupset + wheelset from eBay...
4) The frame is ugly, there is nothing vintage or classic about the bike, and I highly doubt it's NOS, pass.
------------------------------
What do you need to look for? For a sub1000 price range you can get a Columbus SL / SLX frame with Campagnolo Super Record groupset - just be sure the bike fits With such set up you could easily do a very pleasant and enjoyable rides over 50km a week.
