another Mercier ID Help
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the Forums. I was hoping some of you might be able to tell some more about this. It's advertised as being from the 70's or 80's, but no exact date specified.
The seller also provided some specs (in French), which are below.
Any thoughts?
Cadre Acier Tubes allégés
Roues Mavic pneu ar neuf
Dérailleurs simplex
Pédalier strongLight
Pédales Makishima
Cintre Alu Belleri
Freins Mafac Racer
Jantes Mavic
The seller also provided some specs (in French), which are below.

Could be a Mercier 200, maybe from 1970s. Belleri handlebars, Mafac brakes, nice Stronglight crank. Cadre Acier Tubes allégés probably means it's a high tensile steel frame.
Pretty nice bike tho'

Why do you think 1976? It seems to me that Merciers are a real puzzle when it comes to their "born-on" date.

Hi Gerv, and everyone else. Thanks for weighing in. I have no idea how to tell the different models apart (100, 200, 300), and the years, as you mention, are even a bigger mystery. In any case, someone else beat me to this one, so it's back on the hunt.
Cheers.
