Bianchi Eros, 2000?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if this Eros is worth $700, and if it's actually a women's road bike: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/bik/4062073444.html

Any thoughts?

Not an expert, but just by scoping out what bikepedia has (no pics, unfortunately), I'd say that it is a Men's, based upon the color alone. The Women's model, Eros Donna, has the color listed as Ultramarine blue. That being said, if that is the right size frame, I'd go check it out regardless if the top tube is slanted or not.

My thoughts are; there is no way I'd pay $700 for that Bianchi

I picked up a '98 Eros for my daughter for $100 last year. It was Campy 9 speed. The paint had plenty of chips so I had it blasted and powder coated. It now looks like new. I probably have a total of $225 into it. The one you are looking at is way over priced.

Seller probably paid less than $700 for it new. Somewhere in the $300s is the right price.

Don't hold your breath.

Thank you very much for the feedbacks.

Does this Giant Kronos worth $280? I believe it's a '95. This is the only picture I have -- sorry!

^I think the Giant is a fine bike. You should be able to get it for less, say $250. It's as good or maybe better than the Eros, which IIRC, was a pretty low end Bianchi. I believe it had Campy Mirage bits, which are good, just less valuable than even the Veloce....ymmv....

The Bianchi is a little high at $700, but $300 is way off too. That's about a $500 bike. After around 2001, the lower end Bianchi line moved to Taiwan. So the advertised model is one of the last years to be made in Italy. Some may not agree, but there's plenty of buyers out there that would fork over $500 for that bike.
As for the Giant, it certainly is a better deal than the Bianchi. IMHO, the made in Italy thing at this level is over-rated, and I have a 2001 Campione made in Italy (see the Avatar)!
