Help identifying 70s(?) Columbus Frame
i've recently purchased a Columbus frame with Campagnolo headset and bottom bracket. i was hoping someone could help identifying the frame.
i think it's been repainted, but believe it is Columbus tubing.
it looks like there has never been a badge screwed/riveted to the head tube.
the dropouts and bits for the derailleur cables are stamped Campagnolo.
the only other markings i could fine is a "C" and "2" stamped into the bottom bracket shell (last photo).
the size is approximately 63cm seat tube, 56cm top tube, 63cm down tube.
the previous owner did not know what "brand" of bicycle it was, but said that it was early 1970s.
can anyone help identifying the age or "brand" this might been as a new bicycle?
photographs may be viewed at this link.
thanks very much in advance,

The lugs look like Haden Royal Sovereign or possibly Prugnat S4. The down tube shifter braze-ons and the single water bottle braze-on bosses would indicate late 70s or early 80s to me. There's nothing really distinctive enough about the frame to indicate who the builder might be. It looks like a quality frame, though.

Nice frame likely semi custom based on size. Based on the rather generic high end lugs, lack of detailing and common tubing. It could have been made a large number of bulders.

I agree it's probably custom. You don't often see off-the-rack 63cm frames with such short top tubes. Most likely built for a customer with long legs and disproportionately short torso.

Yeah this frame is pretty typical of a high end custome build using off the rack tubing and luggs meaning nearly any one of a several hundred small bulders in the US or on order frome Itally could have made it. This makes positive ID nearly impossible. If you could narrow down where the bike was originally sold to a specific City or area that may help.

What's the threading on the bottom bracket and headset?

Well based on the stock Campagnollo headset, BB and dropouts. I would be say 90% chance it is standard Italian threading and spacing circa 1980 or so.
