1984 (?) Centurion Elite RS
The bike is a 1984 (I think) Centurion Elite RS. Picked it up for my girlfriend. Tange II CroMo tubes, No scratches or dings, gold ano araya wheels and matching dia-compe levers. Brand new Kenda tires and specialized saddle (not sure which one yet need to do more searching. Sugino AS cranks and Suntour Cyclone II derailleurs. Looking at the chainrings, I would guess very low miles, likely a garage bike that rarely got used.Post pics later, but what are your thoughts on price... we will see if we overpaid. I live in San Diego, so the market here particularly for 'vintage' bikes is a pretty inflated (sometimes ridiculously so.)

Okay picture time. Did cleanup today, took pics along the way.
Brakes first:
The chain and chainrings look hardly worn:
Bottom Bracket is clean.
Front derailleur Rear derailleur
Wheel after some polishing.
Paint chips in the back, new specialized saddle, Freewheel, shifters, Spiderwebs in the brake levers that I had to clean out.
Rear wheel after I was done:
bike overall

I owned an Elite RS of the same vintage. I live in a very hot bike market. I bought it for $100 and sold it for $250. I had to put new hoods, bar tape, tires and tubes on it. It was in near perfect condition. I thought it was a fair price.

I bought this one for $180. Pretty hot market here as well particularly for 'vintage' cause all the hipsters wanna make them into fixies. With the brand new tires and the saddle, I think it was a fair price.

Still learning
Looks nice, hope she enjoys it. I think you paid with 10-15% of FMV for the bike as shown. I'm lower than Bob because I've seen more than a few Centurion Comp TA and Ironman's in Southern Cal go for low $$$, as low as $150 and up to $300. The Elite RS is a lesser bike.

The Elite was a decent bike, it was their entry level competition bike which shared the same main tubes as their middle of the line competition bike, but it weighed more because the Elite used Hi-Tensile steel for the stays and head tube, and for the fork. However, the Elite used the Cyclone derailleurs which were actually superior over the Shimano 600 used in the middle one.
In pristine shape it could fetch $500 which means about $250 for average condition depending on where you live of course
