Appraisal on unknown viintage aluminium frame, maybe carbon frame.

Hi everyone,
this bike is been sold in Brazil by US$300 as a full carbon made.
There is no brand or badge on it. The stikers were put by the seller to combine with the Specialized tires. I didn't warn him Hardrock isn't a speed bike because I want to buy it.

despite the seller said is entire carbon I suspect the frame is aluminium.
The seat lug remind me Cadex Cannondale. But there is no head lugs, seems it is a monocoque.
Don't know if is there an aluminium monocoque.
So if you guys could help me identify this frame I appreciate any input.
Being carbon or aluminium what would be a fair price for this bike?

Thank you in advance.
KK

i don't see any weld marks so it looks carbon to me.

are you talking about a GIANT cadex? those were carbon.

I have aluminum bikes with very smooth joints - I've been asked if they were carbon, so don't let sweet joinery sway your opinion.

The bike looks like carbon to me, but you'll be able to tell for sure if you inspect it in person.

However, it's also sketchy. It's a bad looking parts-bin build/repaint, and may or may not be a decent working piece. The fork is obviously not original (note the glossy paint.) Overall, it scares me. So inspect it VERY carefully when you go to look at it.

$300 is a lot of scratch for a parts bucket, no name, falsely advertised, sketchy bike. That being said, the components may be worth the price of the whole.

I would agree it looks a little sketchy. Older maybe carbon or aluminium frame with a cheaper no name carbon replacement fork and mix of random mid to high end components and not so great repaint. Could be worth the price if all of the componets are in good order and the build is solid, but that seems doubtfull.

I would not spend that unless you can make a 100% positive i.d.

yes, you're right, I meant Giant Cadex, its tubes are carbon with aluminium lugs.

Thank you all for warning me. I agree is in bad shape, pics are not so good but shows the bike doesn't worth that much.
I'll try lower the price maybe for the parts, but I'll give up on riding carbon frame. I'm not that athlete anyway.
I'll keep my old steel bike in order.

Thanks FastJake. if it is carbon do you have an idea of year or brand? or perhaps it is a loose frame of asiatic manufacturing.

that's what I thought, this cluster may be the "trade mark" of some manufacturer.
