Pinarello cyclocross CX frameset? Any feedback on this?

Hey all,

I'm wondering what you think about this Pinarello cyclocross CX frameset?

Here's what the seller is saying (in italic) about it.

made in Italy frameset frame fork lugged steel

vintage all steel fully lugged Pinarello treviso CX all road bike. cyclocross, but also makes an outstanding rough road bike with 32c slick tires (how I used it)

original paint with minor scuffs in many places, no major damage. stickers are reproductions but correct for this bike.

includes ritchey logic headset, cinelli 130 made in italy stem, and ritchey WCS aluminum 42cm handlebars. , takes 27.2 seatpost

sizing. 57.5 top tube, seat tube 60cm Center to center, head tube 190mm, italian thread BB

great style, you dont see these everyday, classic italian design, no issues, no surprises

He wants $500 for this on the local CL. I posted this question on the CX forum here and it was suggested I post the question here on C&V. It was also pointed out that he has this on ebay for $700. Is this guy pretty accurate on this, or is he reaching for the stars? Any idea of the year and what you think is a good price for it?

nice CX frameset but…$500 nice? I think that's too steep. Maybe $250.

$500 is high, he might get someone to pay it though. vintage cx frames are definitely now so common in North America. I would pay $350 it pretty readily if it's in decent shape.

I've owned two and broke both of them.

Rode them both hard and they were a boatload of fun.

Both broke at the dt and bb shell joint.

Yes, I was rough, using them on everything from daily commuting to a little singletrack.

I bought both used on CL with Shimano tri color for less than this advertised CL price.

Fun bicycles while they lasted and I would take another if it was cheap enough.

Something about the pic makes it look bigger than a 60, and remember it will have a higher BB so a 60 may fit more like a 62

I agree the price seems high especially since the seller makes no mention of tubing. Pretty frame though.

It does look larger than a 60.

My two Pinarellos were built from Oria tubesets.

I forget which version.

They were a little porky, but had a decent ride.

Likely a bit heavy to run around a cx course with I'd reckon.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Somewhere around $200 or better. Even at $200 I don't think it would sell that fast on CL. I've watched tall CX bikes trying to be sold around here. It just doesn't move that fast. I would have started the ad on ebay at $200 and let it go. I tend to lose interest in the ebay ads if they keep it around and try to find some sucka.

I forgot to mention that this was not for any CX racing. Just an everyday bike that can tackle alot.

$200 is too low.

It would be gone in an hour here.

It should be mentioned the prices I suggested were six-eight years ago.
