Raleigh Clubman Appraisal

I picked up this Raleigh Clubman several ago and now it is time to move it out of the garage. Orig. owner said it was a 1979 model? It is fairly clean and mostly original (IMO) with Raleigh stamped components and wheels for the most part-Carlton built all 531 Reynolds tubes, but has been sitting for many years without activity. Unsure if the plastic fenders, light, etc., were an after thought or original to the bike? Any help on estimated value is appreciated.

1979 is possible. Seems the Clubman made a comeback in the late '70s to mid '80s. I believe the fenders are likely original. The older Clubmans featured celluloid fenders and the newer ones were referred to as plastic, and I saw references to gold colored plastic and ESGE.

The bars on your bike are Pivo, French lightweight alloy bars. I have some on my Motobecane Grand Jubile and I quite like them. Don't know if those are original to the bike or not.

Condition is so-so, but it will probably clean up nicely.

On the plus side, it is Reynolds 531, can handle large tires and for those who want something different, you don't see them around very often.

BTW, I found the '79 catalog on the Headbadge website and the Clubman is not listed.

IMHO, cleaned up and rideable, $250.00. I'm sure some might value it higher.

TugaDude-thx for the info. I didn't mention that it was picked up in Europe, so likely a Euro version and that may be why it doesn't match catalog?
