1984 pinarello
there is a great looking pinarello for sale locally but i don't know enough about them so i'd like some input. seller says its a 1984 treviso. he says it is all original. the sizing looks almost perfect for me. i think the price is a little high but i'd like to hear what you guys think its worth.

ok i dont know why the pictures are so small but from what i can tell the chrome looks good, pantograph stem and cranks look clean, seller says some stickers and paint aren't perfect.

Some nicks, typical Pinarello self destructing graphics. Campagnolo, but I cannot tell what level of hubs and brakes. Rims show pad wear. In Southern California, it would not last at $750. At $1000, it might take a while for a local sale and the buyer would want to haggle.

I picked up an '83 Pinarello Record frameset earlier this year. The Records were similar to the Treviso but were sold as frames/forks only. Mine is a large frame (63cm) which keeps the price down but it is in near perfect condition. I built it up with Campy parts from the parts bin. I have a third of what you are getting for estimates into it. You can get Campy NR components for fairly cheap.

A relatively similar bike sat on Philly CL at $900. I'm not sure if he sold it, or how much he got for it. For a local sale...if I really wanted it...I might go $900. It really depends on what it's worth to you. I'm in a minority here, but sometimes it's ok to pay more than you think its worth if you want it. If you over pay $150 and enjoy it for 10 years, did the $150 matter?
On eBay I'd say between $800-$1000 complete.
What others paid, or other good deals, don't really dictate average value or how you value it. I've paid far less for a few bikes than what I thought they were worth - it doesn't mean they're worth less. I've also paid more some bikes than others paid - it doesn't mean I overpaid.

Hard to tell from the pics but looks like lower level campy rear derailleur and brakes. Not a 1K bike from what I see but then if it's your size and you like it, it's a fine bike.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Completely agree with KonAaron Snake.
Bike has Campy Triomphe/Victory cranks/rear changer, level of finish was as or almost as good as NR components. Panto parts are a big plus.
