Vintage Bridgestone 400 Road Racing Bike | eBay

Decent price?

I've been looking for an 80s lugged Japanese race bike (mostly because I'm priced out of the Italians). I like Miyatas but I know Bridgestone made some nice bikes too.

I think it is $50-100 too high, but the market will tell. If it sells, its worth that price.

Thanks. Every bike I have bid on on Ebay recently has sold for $100 or so more than I valued it but I don't know much. I was bidding on this Miyata that I thought I could get for $350-400 and it went over $500 plus shipping

I don't know much about vintage bikes. I think I will stick to Miyata 900s and wait till the right one comes around

The bridgestone is too high at $300 plus shipping; the Miyata 914 fetched top dollar but it is a nicer bike. That said, vintage racing bikes can be found on CL for a much better price than e-bay. You will want to check out the C&V sales section as well. Or post a bike wanted thread on this site and see what turns up. At $500, you should be able to get a heck of a nice vintage racing bike.

Thanks for the advice. I'll post here and keep an eye on it. Unfortunately, my local Los Angeles craigslist is just as inflated as ebay for vintage anything. You put the word vintage in front and people automatically charge another 30%. I know there is room for negotiation on CL so I do check there but lately the vintage bikes I've seen there are either junk or they are pristine restored bikes that are more then I want to spend. But I'll be patient. This bike is a want not a need so I have the luxury of waiting for the right one
