    Miyata - Ideas on Worthiness

    Hi all,

There is a thread referencing this same bicycle somewhere here on bikeforums but there's not a whole lot of info and nothing explaining what this bike is worth. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. Do I clean it up some and sell it as a complete bike? or part it out? So...what is this old Miyata worth and how?

Thanks for any and all help with this!

Pic of complete bike? Size matters.

Its worth 100, might get to 135 if you clean it up, unless you are in a hot market, then add 50.

Judging by the cottered crank this is an old bike, probably somewhere in the 70's. The Dura-ace parts might be worth something. If it all the parts are original it might be worth something to the right buyer.

More pictures would definitely help. From what I can tell ~75-150$

From what we can see...and, as others said, pic of the whole bike would help a lot. Also...a pic of the top tube, showing the model would help. In this case, parting it out might not be the best approach. The Dura Ace brakes have some value, but the Eagle derailleur brings basically nothing. Same for the cottered cranks and FD. I do not think you will break the $100 barrier with this bike, probably more like $75

Hey thanks for all the insight everyone. The seat tube is roughly 23". I'll try and get a whole bike pic posted soon. Anything else about this bicycle? 70's Miyata history? Common or rare? Does it have a cool name or anything like that?
