Peugot 10 Speed 1960's?

Hi!
I found this bike and bought it. Seems alls well, as it runs smooth and shifts nicely. Needs full clean up and polish.

Any idea of it's general value? I would sincerely appreicate knowing.
thanks so very much!

It's a Peugeot UO-8 from roughly 1977-1978. It was an entry-level road bike. They're really common and not particularly valuable, but you'll read that lots of people find them to be a comfortable ride. (I have a UO-8 myself and like it.) You can find them under $100 every once in while. Commonly in the $100-150 range.

Being as old as it is, I'd strongly suggest a complete mechanical once-over. If the original 36-year-old grease is still in the bottom bracket, headset, and wheel hubs, it's almost certainly all dried out now and doing nothing to protect the bearings, races, and cones.

That rear derailleur looks like an SJ810 GT. It can work pretty well, better than the Simplex Prestige that came on UO8s from at least the early 70's. We've been running on on our Peugeot tandem.

I still ride my '72 UO8.

I would say also it is a UO-8 from the 70's. These are nice riding bikes but not rare or very valuable I would say about $150-175 considering the fairly good original condition.
