Am I asking too much for this bike

I have a Bridgestone RB-T that I have for sale on C List, this forums for sale thread, and another. I wasn't sure how much to ask for it, but based on what I researched I came up with $450. Here is a link to it https://www.bikeforums.net/sale/95662...ring-bike.html
So far, I have only received very limited responses. Am I asking too much, or is it not the treasure I think it is?

First off, you'd probably have better luck if you'd posted in the C&V sales section (though I suppose making this thread here accomplishes the same result).

Your asking price seems a little high to me, but it's not totally unreasonable, since the Bridgestone name carries a lot of cachet with some buyers. Three things I would definitely do though are to replace the tires (20-year-old tires aren't a good thing!), take a couple more photos that show the bike from the drivetrain side, and add some more specifics about the components instead of asking people to go elsewhere to read the catalogue specs. Including a rear rack would also make the sale easier, since this is supposed to be a touring bike after all.

Those were really nice tires in their day.

+1 Dirty, old tires, hacked bar tape. Take the time to clean and prep your bike for maximum return.
+2 Also, It's not the most desirable frame size, being so small. Sure, many could compromise on size with longer stems and seatposts, but only when the buying price is cheap enough to make it palatable.

As is, 250-300ish looks more appropriate given that the buyer will certainly have to replace the tires. Of course, depends on your market and the buyer.

It's a great bike, but I believe your asking price is optimistic. If the asking price was a hundred dollars lower and we weren't 1,000 miles apart, I might be tempted to inquire about the bike myself. As a buyer, it would take some persuasion to get me over $300.

A thorough cleaning and some new bar tape would certainly help you maximize what you could get for the bike.

You must be tall. ;-)

53 cm isn't a particularly small frame, especially since the bike's top tube is on the long side. I'm above average height for an adult American male, albeit just barely, and this RB-T is just my size.

All that sunshine in Florida and an indoor photo against fiber bi-fold doors. Tell me you can't find a better location?

+10 on the advice above.

Price? ISeattle is a much stronger market for bikes than Ocala, yet the seller below received $200 less, $245. Reset your expectations!
