Need an estimate for this Coppi bike / incompetent bike novice
I've been looking around for a dingy coppi bike to use and came across this one Vintage Coppi Road Bike (Mint Condition) for sale | road | City of Toronto | Kijiji Now the guy is asking for 550, but im trying to bring it down to 400. What would you say its worth and why. I gave it a test run and it was pretty incredible. Light as a feather as well and has campy nuovo gears and brakes. It was made in the late 80s and seems to be a forelli italian made frame. Any advice would be of great help. Thanks folks

I'd say in a market like Toronto, you'd be lucky to get it for $500. That would be priced at $800 in one of the stores that sells used bikes. Offer $450.

Oh thank god. Any info as to what the history of the bike may be or the type of frame. I've gotten it down to $450, but somethings telling me its not worth as much. But it is as mint in person as the pictures are. What other bikes could I go for in that price range. Sorry for all the questions but thanks again.

The brake calipers are not CampI and I would venture to say neither are the brake levers or crank.
I don't know about pricing in your area but I would hardly call this 'mint' especially if it was just serviced.
It looks like the center bolt is plugged up with dirt.

its a mid-range Coppi. Looks like Grand Sport rear derailleur, which is OK but not Record quality. I cannot tell tubing type, but the lugs are very basic, not cut or filed. Since I am not in tune with the Toronto pricing structures, I cannot say if I think its a fair price, but its high to me, given its a mid grade bike not a high end Coppi. Also, like all prices for rider bikes, the OP needs to decide if the price is right for him, sellable value is only important if you are selling. Compare to other Toronto prices to see if its market fair.
