1995 Univega gran rally, 1986 Centurion Accordio RS, and 1993 Cannondale R600

Hi, Im new here and I want to get into road cycling so i went onto craigslist to see what kind of road bikes are available in my area. I ran into these bikes and i want to know if these bikes are really worth the price they are listed for. If they arent worth it, could you guys put a price down and a reason why so i could use it to persuade the seller to lower the price.
Heres the links:

The Univega is a project and missing the front wheel. It isn't worth more than $50 or as project and will require lots of work to make it road worthy.

The Centurion looks good, but seems pricey but I don't know the market. Does it fit?

Than Cannondale may be a bit over priced but again I don't know your market. I personally find the Cannondale to have a harsh ride and would not recommend it as a first bike.

While I would not pay $385 for the Centurion, it is not a terrible price given the work that the seller apparently put into the bike. The bike is worth checking out esp. if the OP doesn't want to do his (or her) own work on the bike.

The Univega is worth checking out. It is not worth $150; I'd offer more like $75 for it. A new wheel doesn't cost a bomb. The bike does have some rust issues though and will need a rehab. If the OP wants to do his or her own work, this bike could be a good project for the right price.

I'd pass on the cannondale at $600.

the CL posing is gone so you may have missed. The shifters on top of the down tube (DT) was sort of an aero thing that didn't last long. Both shimano and Suntour had shifters that mounted there for a year or two but then they went back to side of the DT.

Now that the Accordio is sold I feel I can chime in. I stayed out of it because it was my bike. Locally there is a high market on vintage bikes and the bike actually sold for $350. Here is my breakdown of costs.

Value of bike $100 (in as found condition - barely rideable but not tuned in forever)
value of work $150 (if buyer could not perform work and had to go to a shop)
value of parts $200 (not expecting full recovery of cost naturally but stating as a basis for price)

here is the kicker. Shipping any bike here is a additional $50-100 and given the tight sellers market here and the rarity of the bike (again it's relative to location) brings the value way up. So while it may not be worth it in some markets, the $500 projected value and the actual sales price of $350 is a relative deal here. especially because of the metric ****ton of Wally World bikes that are the other option. So the reality of it is even if you were to find a $100 deal out of state it would automatically cost $200 landed and that's without any additional parts/work.

Oh n btw I bought the Univega mentioned above for $50, caught the guy at the right time I guess. Sometimes you win.

@wrk101, maybe you and I should fill a shipping container with bikes to fund a Hawaii excursion?
