Help with age & value of raleigh lenton grand prix reg harris road model please

I just got a Raleigh Lenton Gran Prix Reg Harris road model today (it also has a Guaranteed Genuine English Light Weight sticker) from local thrift store for $9.95!!
How do I tell what year it is?
What is the ball park value? (It will have a replacement seat, the original was missing - maybe why they sold it so cheap)
PS - Please forgive the blurry Reg Harris photo; I didn't notice until in front of computer. I can take another if needed.
Thanks, I appreciate any help with what I am hoping is a home run buy!

Miami, Fla. - How can I tell what year it is?
It doesn't have a serial number on bottom of frame.

Check the date stamp on the rear hub. Might give a clue. This bicycle, however, was designed for a derailleur since it has a shifter boss and a cable stop on the right chain stay. I'm doubtful the rear wheel is original.

I looked at the hub and tried to get as good of photos as I could - does the 58 stamp mean it's a 1958?
Do these photos help to tell if the rear wheel is original?

The hub says:
G B PATENT 519945
SWISS 221146

Then as I turn the wheel it says
STURMEY
ARCHER
FM
58
FOUR SPEED

Below are also photos of gear shiftier (what a place to put it - how can you click that comfortably while riding fast, through a turn, etc..?!) and the wire as it goes to the hub.
Thanks again - I appreciate any help!

Very desirable hub. Its a Four speed, Medium gear range. You don't run into those often.

Thanks - Is it a 1958?
Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what it's worth if I have it cleaned up? And places as well as e-Bay (my e-Bay store is called Miami Picker, but I have only sold one bike on there before; a 1950's Coventry Eagle), that I can get best price for it?
Thanks again.

Interesting bike the four speed hub is likely not original based on the cable routing and the braze on's for a 4 or 5 speed derailleur setup.

This is what I found on Retro Raleighs about the Lenton Grand Prix (does the 58 on the hub mean this is a 1958? Because what little I can understand, according to the info below, Lentons were: "The 1961 models had a cable operated front derailleur instead of the rod-control." and mine is a cable or wire, not a rod, right? So does that mean it's a 1961?)
Also - I want to list this on my e-Bay store at $750 obo - is that out of line? I read in another post here about the Reg Harris model & someone said they dropped out of a e-Bay auction for one when it hit $600?
Again, thanks for all the help guys!

FROM RETRO RALEIGHS
A final variant of the Lenton was also introduced in 1958. The Lenton Grand Prix, no. 7, was the first Raleigh with derailleur gear as standard fit: an eight-speed Cyclo-Benelux Mark 7 with a 14T, 16T, 18T and 20T block and a Williams double 46T/49T chainring with a Benelux hand-control front changer. Alloy brakes, a Brooks B15 "Swallow" saddle and Racelite hubs made for a high standard specification warranting a 27. 19 s. 6 d. price. This was offered in an entirely new color: Silver Grey with white peak head and fitments or Sunset Yellow with black peak head and fitments. The 1961 models had a cable operated front derailleur instead of the rod-control.

I would say that $750 seem quit high. When you consider the bike is in as found project basically condition and not original or complete. I would quess the most your likely to get on ebay as shown is $250 give or take. The Reg Harris was a nicer model in excellent original condition.

Well I have never seen anyone break the $400 mark on a Grand Prix regardless. So I'm with Wrk101 an explanation of your price would be very interesting.

You are confusing the shifter for the internal gear hub (IGH) with a shifter for a derailleur. Your bicycle has no front derailleur. The bicycle also no rear derailleur. It is equipped with an IGH which is not original equipment.

So, the Lenton Grand Prix you have could be a 1958 if you use the hub date as an indicator. While the rear hub is a 1958, the bicycle was not originally equipped with that setup. The bicycle could be as early as a 1957 and as late as a 1962. This bicycle is not original which affects the value considerably. Your comment from the Peter Kohler article on RetoRaleighs is irrelevant since there are no derailleurs on the bicycle. I know what I'd be willing to pay for a straight-gauge Reynolds 531 equipped bicycle and it is nowhere near what you are thinking you can get for this bicycle.

Not sure what it matters but I can almost positively date it as 58/59 US import based on the Genuine Light Wieght sticker. Which was put on by the the US Importer.

Well, it sold in 2 days on e-Bay for $375; I'm happy with that! Now getting my next find ready - a Vitus 979 Dural found at same thrift store - for $24.95! (and I am going back to check their new donations this morning before picking up Vitus from bike shop!).
Thanks for all the help & information all.

Thats what i would call a home run price. I also think its proof that a fool and his money are soon parted. But thats me. Great sell! And the Vitus is a fine bike for the price, really nice find.
