Raleigh ID

during the course of web wander came upon this photo of actress Markie Post posing with a Raleigh road machine.

suspect photo must date from mid-eighties, no later than eighty-seven. the bicycle's headplate appears to be of the Raleigh Of America variety.

someone has set the cycle's brake levers in an odd-to me-spot. wonder what the fitting on the underside of the downtube is intended for, perhaps a flickstand mount?

no doubt a slam dunk for the Raleigh experts.

speculation -

do you think the mount is her personal one or just something that the property department threw at her saying "hey, pose with this."?

Considering the vintage of the photo and bike it is Raliegh Bicycle Company of America stead AKA Huffy. During the time frame 82-86 when they where trying to aggressively place there bikes in media and movies. The bike looks to be a very early base model Techinium.
