It's located one town over from me and appears to be fairly complete(other than the wheels).

It's described as:

PEUGEOT 24" DROP HANDLE frame

Frame : Tube Special, Carbolite 103, PEUGEOT FRANCE

Top tube 22"

Down tube 24"



Any idea on which model Peugeot?

Early 1980's. Look for the model on the paper tag on the non-drive side chainstay.

Early to mid 80s lower end Peugeot model with a lugless internally brazed frame.

In the early 80s the French bike makers started using this manufacturing method to reduce costs.



Carbolite 103 was Peugeot's euphemism for low strength plain carbon steel tubing. Gitane called their version Aerotube 102.

If the price is right it should be a decent bike - IF it fits. If a bike is to small or too big then it's no bargain.

It's going to need wheels, pedals, a chain, cables, cable housings bar tape and other small items to make it ridable - $75 to $150+. Add that into the sale price. Bikes like this can usually be found for ~$75 to $200.

I have extra wheels/tires/tubes/freewheel in my parts bin, but maybe I should pick a better specimen to devote my parts on. However, it is pretty cheap at $15..

I'd buy it at $15. You could make it a beater or build it up with whatever's lying around and sell it for $100 or something.

Actually, a cleaned up, minus the red tape, reconditioned Pug like that can fetch north of $200 in Beantown.

Well, I emailed the seller and mentioned that I'd like to buy it if it's still available. He/she never responded, but instead put up a new ad for the same bike but it's now $70. Good luck to that venture, I say.
