I am thinking some kind of late '60s Free Spirit cantilever type frame with an inverted North Roads bar setup.

Yes the AMF sears sold roadmaster cantilever frame. Ineresting piece of bike history, came out just after Schwinn lost there patent hold on the canti moon frames. But just awfull low end bike wise not worth much more than scrap value.
