Nishiki Altron 7000, Triathlon Series, World Tour Edition, Handcrafted by Kawamura

Hello,
Dug deep into my garage and found my old road bike from the 80's.

Here are the specs and some pics.
Thanks!

Pretty bike in great shape. Fairly high up in Nishiki’s 1987 line up. Nice components. Aluminum frame - that might be the 1 factor that brings the price down a bit. Certainly worth $300 plus. Just not sure how high a buyer would go for an aluminum frame. Maybe $400 - $450.

Agree with above. The Denver market is hotter than most - so you would get a bit more here. Where you sell the bike impacts the price you'll get. If you still have the original saddle put that on (or any nice looking white saddle). Also, some fresh white bar tape would help. New tires - yep. I think someone might buy the bike more for the components - they look to be in pristine shape. The frame paint/design will also attract buyers.

Ha, this thread reminded me of one of the funnier CL postings in my area in a long time

Nishiki Altron 7000 racing bike Nishiki Altron 7000, no pics, $1200 asking. The seller sent me 2 pictures since I just had to see what would justify the price- its in terrible cosmetic shape. Bar tape hanging down, tires cracked, etc.

Your bike looks incredible for its age. In Iowa I wouldn't be surprised to see it posted for $400-425 and sell for $350+ assuming good new tires are on and the grease is new.
