$500 Very poor set up on that bike which raises questions about the build in general.

I agree there area few details make it look like a lousy setup.

Also just what is 'restored' about this bike? The frame looks like a '88ish paint scheme but the components are very late '90s or early 2000 so I would call it modified, or modernized but not restored.

Any idea if the fork is original or replacement? I might give $350-400 but that is with the understanding I will be spending a few hours cleaning and rebuilding it. Not to mention getting rid of that stem.

I see what looks to be a frame sticker on the upper seat tube. What tubing/build is the frame?

1989 Olmo Sanremo. Paid $650. Seems like the setup is pretty close to what you're asking.

It's kind of what C&Vers call a "frankenbike" being that the components mounted are from different manufacturers and from different eras. Having a more "cohesive" component group on a C&V bike is usually more preferred, and is given more value by C&V bike collectors and riders.
As you might have noticed, just the stem and seatpost look to be from different makers/era from each other and the druvetrain components...... now if it had a full Campy or Shimano or Suntour mid to high level group, then people will think that the build was done at least with a lot of thought by the previous owner. With what's on the bike right now, some will think that the build could have been just kind of slapped together quickly with what the owner had handy in his stash of parts and components, which equates to many C&Vers as a "poor build".
