'88 Paramount

Just picked this one up at a flea market today for $70. It appears to be a 1988 Paramount, Dura Ace groupset, Campy rear dropout. Ser# has 2 lines on BB, 5608....B8568. Slightly rough shape, wondering if it's worth putting in a bit for restoration.

Well yeah, I know it's worth a bit more than I paid , but there seems to be almost no valuations for this one, a "standard" model, and everything for that year references the 50-year anniversary model. Do you think $300 is in the ballpark, or more? The difference between a $300 bike and a $500 bike is a lot, to me, since I've never paid more than $125 for any bike I've owned. I've had some high-end bikes, but they came as a result of trade-ups, or lucky finds.

The bike has tubulars, which I have no use for, and mismatched rims at that, so I'll need to invest in some good rims and relace them, just wondering what price-range I'm in when I invest in the rims. Thanks.

I'm thinking >500, but you will need to clean it up and replace those scarred brake levers.

It's a 1985 Paramount based on the serial number. 56cm center-to-top, 68th Paramount frameset scheduled for production in February, 1985.

BTW, it's 560B, not 5608. The B is the length of the fork steerer tube.

In my area that Paramount would sell for $500 +/- in existing condition. All cleaned up with new tires, cables, brake pads, etc. and it would bring $700 +/- if you had a little patience.

Great. Thanks, now I know what I can spend on the resto. I'm retired, so my patience level is good.
