1986 Schwinn Madison Track Bike
Saw this on Craigslist, was wondering if this was a good price for it?

That's a great bike in great shape. I think the price is fair.

Yep; it's not a steal, but a good price if the frame is straight without any dents or rust.
Make sure it fits. 21" is a pretty small frame.

As others have said this is a very good price if the frame is strait. I would check it real close this bike looks to have been somewhat well road and most track bikes that have been road a lot have been crashed.

Yup, great deal. If those cranks are 165mm, you can get a couple hundred for them on eBay, perhaps similarly with the hubs if they are NJS.
If you do go to check it out, ask about extra parts like chainrings and cogs, it has been my experience that a lot of the old track riders had lots of spare parts and they may include them in the sale.

I have been watching these for years. I hope you buy it and enjoy it! When I find one in that shape in my size for $400, I will.

Damn -- Texas is a border state to me --- 400 miles is still a long haul though - I'd be all over that too --- You have a track in Houston and one in Frisco, so you could foreseeably get some use out of that one

I've got a nice 1987 Madison , even has original tires. The only wear is from getting bounced around in storage. How much are these going for?
