1986 Colnago Master Campagolo Record Titanium 9- Speed
It's a repaint, as original paint peeled off the chrome.
Chrome's very good, paint is 9/10, group is 8/10.
57cm C-C both ways.

Is it worth more with 8 speed Chorus, or should I go with 7 speed Super Record, or try to find a C-Record.
Seems a lot of effort for a repaint, though.
I might just keep it to ride, it is really sweet.

Yes--- after sourcing correct parts to eke out a few more bucks -- geez, your time is still worth something -- although many say it isnt -- One guy told me his time wasn't worth much unless he was "on the clock" --- i have a contrary opinion that my free time is the most valuable of all, due to the different directions i can be pulled into-- sourcing all that may take days - then building it up for the sake of selling it again - Oy Vey
That is a great bike with a good rideable group ------- A damn nice Record group at that ---- 750 does sound like a slap in the face, -- and for a bike like that i'd probably just ride it if it fits rather than messing with it ----
And what a beautiful, prestigious bike to have for a rider! OTOH, if you want to sit on it for a little bit, you might fetch that much or more for the frameset on fleabay - who knows ----- i didnt know they were dabbling with titanium in 86,

I may not be a fair evaluator since I LOVE 9 sp record for its blend of looks and function. Normally I'd agree with Jim's assesment, but I think the frame and group really work together here. I think 1000-1200 on ebay is reasonable.
You will not get your money out of buying another group like c-record unless you get very lucky. Still - you'd do better parting out. You might part this out too if you want maximum value, though you're missing the most prized part (ti seatpost).

I would expect to pay 12 to 1300 for a bike like that and have to drive 90 to 120 miles to get it. It has a lot of good things going for it. Because it's not OG paint, I would leave it as a 9 speed and ride it. Well, I would have to find a TI seatpost, but that's just my opinion. Several Orange colnago frames that were refinished have done very well on ebay in the past couple weeks. I recall a mercks badged colnago super selling for $975 on its own.
